Wow, What a Band!  [Posted 5/8/06]
Hello_Dolly_Pit_002.jpg LCMA and the Ovation Players, in their first collaboration* with Main Street Players, provided the orchestra and tech support for "Hello, Dolly!" April 23 - May 7 at the Theater at Sinclair in Englewood, Colorado. We first met "Dolly" (Jane Borg-Chilson) at our first-ever theater production, "The Who's Tommy" at Town Hall in 1998, where she confessed she "fell in love with the music." This began a long-standing mutual admiration that culminated in the chance to work together on this production of "Hello, Dolly!" eight years later. A lot has happened in the meantime, yet the magic and chemistry have prevailed. Jane was radiant, the band was incredible, and the show was a success for both Littleton arts groups. Look forward to another musical collaboration in the future. * (Actually, the second if you remember the miraculous sets Jane's husband Rex Chilson constructed for "Anything Goes" at ACC in 2000).

Solo & Ensemble Festival 2006  [Posted 5/7/06]
solofest06/036.gifThe Eleventh Annual Emily Frisby Solo & Ensemble Festival was presented May 6, 2006 at the prestigious Newman Center for the Performing Arts at Denver University. Over a hundred students from school-age through adult participated in this professionally adjudicated event that attracted soloists in piano, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments as well as several polished performances by instrumental ensembles. LCMA, as the producer of the event, was honored to include several full professors from the internationally acclaimed Lamont School of Music at DU as adjudicators at this event, and is looking forward to the 2007 Festival at this state of the art, All-Steinway facility.
