"Father of the Bride" at the Pinnacle  [Posted 3/5/05]
In a refreshing departure from standard dinner-theater musical fare, the Pinnacle dives into straight comedy with this tale of love, marriage, and family set in the not-so-distant past. Eddie Mekka ( Laverne and Shirley, Fiddler on the Roof ) is instantly engaging in the title role as a well-to-do father of two who never quite got over his own wedding day (who said Carmine has to grow up?). Director Bev Newcomb-Madden has let each of the players develop their own characters, and with mostly-convincing results. A strong supporting cast, good continuity, and spacious set design make this one not to be missed. Through April 3 at The Pinnacle Dinner Theatre, Wadsworth & Bowles, Littleton. 720-214-5630. http://pinnacledinnertheatre.com
